O.K. Here are some tips that are working for me (I know this thru Google Analytics @ my artfire shop):

1. Add your store links to every e-mail account you have! Not just your business account!! Make them clickable links!!

2. Go to http://www.SelfPromotion.com/
Open a FREE account in a name other than your shop names! That way you can add as many shops to your one account as you would like! You can subscribe as many sites as you want to many search engines, all at once FREE!! I choose to donate $5.00 a year & they resubmit all of my sites for me...for an entire year!!! If you donate nothing, you are still included, but you have to re-submit every 2 or 3 weeks! No thanks, auto-resubmission is well worth $5.00 a year! AND they e-mail you every time they re-submit for you, with info on the submissions! I get MANY clicks from search engines, thru this submission site! IT'S A MUST!!

3. If you have a Myspace page, submit to "etsymall" page!! FREE ADVERTISING!!! All they require is that you add them as friends! Great page, too!

4. I belong to & post on Paranormal Forums! Most encourage me to maintain a thread about my shops!! Also, I have clickable links to my shops in my signature on these forums! I get traffic (and orders) from those links!! You don't have to join a Para-Forum!!! Find a forum with a non-craft related theme (be sure to read the TOS before clicking-on add my acct, some do not allow ANY form of adverts)!!

ALSO, SelffPromo. offers those who choose to donate, FREE tutorials on maximizing your search engine rankings...AT NO COST TO YOU!!! Insider tips and tecniques!!!

I hope you all will take advantage of these FREE marketing opportunities!! sunny Aprilee sunny

Here a sutle way of advertising. With Etsy's new 'bookmark and share' capability I bookmarked these item in 'Kaboodle' and created a styleboard. Then I share this on myspace, facebook, as well as my site everywhere.

To see what it looks like go to
http://www.kaboodle.com/za/view-styleboard?sbId=AAAAAxXJma0AAAAAAL0yXg&m_ep=sbs

Here is the code if you want to share this item on your sites. Or create your own and share it with others.

<div style="width:282px"><div style="border:1px solid #DEDEDE;padding:5px;background-color:#FFF;margin-bottom:8px"><a href="http://www.kaboodle.com/za/view-styleboard?sbId=AAAAAxXJma0AAAAAAL0yXg&m_ep=sbs"><img src="http://www.kaboodle.com/hi/img/b/0/0/25/8/AAAAC4BNFVYAAAAAACWJYQ.png?v=1231983981000" alt="Not any Green,..." width="270" style="border:none;"/></a></div><div style="float:right;text-align:right;"><a href="http://www.kaboodle.com?m_ep=sbh"><img src="http://www.kaboodle.com/ht/img/header/klogo.gif" alt="Kaboodle" width="90px" style="border:none;"/></a></div><div style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px;">Not any Green,... by zebacollection</div></div>

I created a business page today on Facebook. It was at the suggestion of our old pal Maureen. I didn't realize that you couldn't post links or promote your shops on your own page there. You have to have a business page and get fans I guess. I do find the site a bit overwhelming. There is so much there! alien

It's really helped me!! sunny Also, if you are interested in registering a domain name, no one can beat the prices & "perks" of http://www.godaddy.com For $20.00-$21.00
you can buy a domain name, get a FREE website with a site builder assistant ( see mine @ http://www.ArtistryJewelryStudios.com/ The price is for one year!!! It's my first attempt at building a website! Since it's free with domain purchase...WHY NOT!! You also get FREE business email, all sorts of freebies! Be sure to "Privatize" your domain name (if you don't folks will have access to your personal info.) & it is included in the price I quoted you! When I puchased my domain, I had NO idea what I was doing! I entered my phone # and requested assistance! They called & they were GREAT!! They didn't try to push other products or "extras" on me, they just wanted to help me out! And, while I was on the phone with them, I told them exactly what I wanted & they did it for me!! I LOVE godaddy!! cheers

I think that we should all mention the promo the team as well as our own work on our blogs, facebook etc. I am not averse to outside advertising - some is very reasonably priced, while some is quite expensive though! We would have to see what each team member is willing to contribute pricewise!

PostSubject: Want to be featured?   Sat 27 Jun 2009, 9:46 am

Hey everyone. I came across this at one of my other venues and sent in my information already. She asked me to post the message here too. Take advantage of a great opportunity. It will give your handmade items more exposure . I copied and pasted the message:

Hello All!
My name is April (aka~creativehaven)

More importantly, I've just taken over as editor for the item of the day dept. of Handmadenews.org
My columnist an I are looking for sellers' items to feature in our department.

The way it works is we write up a small article about your item with links directly to your item and shop.

We rotate venues on a daily basis and we are looking for all types of sellers from all venues to feature.

So, if you would like an item of yours featured, please email me @ april@handmadenews.org with the following information.
1)Name
2)link to shop
3)link to preferred item(if you don't have on I will choose)
4)Link to your personal website if you have one.

I will contact you approximately 3 days in advance of your feature.
This is a great way to gain exposure and we'll be looking forward to featuring your items on www.handmadenews.org
~~april

Thank you Teresa! I just emailed her also. I signed up with Artfire a long time ago but used a different shop name. I've never activated the shop because of the name change & having to change my banner etc. I'll be looking for everyone's shops there. Can't wait to see what they do!

I saw that list! There are lots of link-exchanges! If you don't have a general website, you really should get a free one, wherever you buy your Domain name, you always get a free website with your domain name purchase! Aprilee sunny
